Nothing more (or less) than an enchanting light comedy of romantic confusion... It's a movie that understands love because it understands pain. more
Boxoffice Magazine Pete Hammond
A superb ensemble cast makes the most of the comedy's numerous detours and storylines. more
Empire Olly Richards
A wonderful comedy of romance, pain and getting it all wrong until somebody makes you do it right. The kind of film that makes you want to call someone the minute it's over, even if just to tell them to go see this movie. more
Los Angeles Times Betsy Sharkey
Between the writing, acting, directing and the rest, it works. Not crazy, not stupid, and filled with love. Period. more
Wall Street Journal Joe Morgenstern
The movie also fights for what it wants - to touch us in the course of entertaining us - and it succeeds, with its zinger-studded script that transcends clumsy mechanics and a spirited cast that includes Marisa Tomei as a nymphomaniacal middle-school teacher, and Jonah Bobo as a lovesick eighth-grader. more
Time Mary Pols
The movie's biggest surprise is the revelation of Gosling as cunning comedian. more
Variety Peter Debruge
Old-fashioned as that might sound, there's a fresh, insightful feel to this multigenerational love story. more
ReelViews James Berardinelli
Kevin Bacon and Marisa Tomei make the most of their limited screen time, injecting straight comedy into a movie that occasionally comes close to losing its sense of humor. more
New Orleans Times-Picayune Mike Scott
The engine that really makes Crazy Stupid Love go is the same one that has made Ficarra and Requa's films to this point so appealing: While they thrust their characters into outrageous situations, they always keep things grounded in real, relatable emotion. more
New York Post Kyle Smith
Pity the crowds expecting another cute comedy like "Date Night" who wind up at Crazy, Stupid, Love. It'll be like asking for a burger and getting served escargot. more

Oh-so-wonderful :~D I was super-hyped for this movie because the trailer uses three of my favorite songs: "Starlight" by Muse, "Two Weeks" by Grizzly Bear, and "Modern Love" by Bloc Party - none of which made it on the actual soundtrack, but oh well. The curious thing is that the movie is actually made better by the trailer, in retrospect. The trailer itself is pretty typical, teasing us with a few sappy scenes. I went in, expecting a pretty typical formula, but to my pleasant surprise, *minor spoilers* many of the trailer scenes didn't come when I expected, for instance Steve Carell's... more

A fun romantic comedy which suffers a bit by going down the checklist of ensemble romantic comedy cliches - The interwining stories, the (unbelievably) convenient coincidences, the collision of all the storylines in the end, the big finale speech on love... That's not to say the film wasn't entertaining - It just wasn't particularly original and doesn't stand out much. p.s. - and I know I've said this before, but damn, Marisa Tomei just gets hotter with age! more

Crazy, Stupid, Love is well.....crazy, stupid but you still sort of love it. What I liked about the film, is that seemed like such real people. I liked how they portrayed the divorce. There's sadness and confusion on both parts. But there is still some love there. I think they did a good job capturing that. I liked seeing Jacob (Ryan Gosling) fall in love. My favourite scene was him and Hannah (Emma Stone) just laying on the bed and talking. You could really see in his eyes that he was already falling in love. I also quite liked how they all intersected at the end. (Sort of like Love... more

Crazy, Stupid, Love is another example of why people want to be in movies with Steve Carrell. Although it's not a solid film, Crazy, Stupid, Love is a good movie. John Requa and Glenn Ficarra are the directing team that wrote this. They've written some funny movies, and this is their second directing attempt behind another good movie, I Love You Phillip Morris. It wasn't a box office hit, but it was a directorial success. They know how to blend emotionally involved and funny stories very well and get the audience attached to the characters. Adding to a good script and directors is the... more
