Memento has always been a favorite of mine. It's an emotion-wrecking, intellect-fucking suspense drama that transcends the gimmick of its parabolic structure. I hesitate to even call it a gimmick because the structure actually mimics the character's journey of not knowing what just came before. more

I heard a lot about this film, all of which was good before going into it and it completely lived up to and surpassed all the expectation I had. Memento has a really good cast with great plot twists. It was so well written and shot in such a way that Christopher Nolan, made you feel what the protagonist was going through, while he was trying to battle short term memory loss. Probably one of my favorite movies of all time. There is nothing I don't like about this movie. The visual style is amazing, extremely surreal and empty. The acting is just incredible, Guy Pearce just really gave it his all on this and it really shows. The storytelling is unique and unlike any other. It's a complete mind game that doesn't fit together until the very end. I also liked that it managed to keep you guessing, nowhere near predictable. more

This is the one film you should not miss the beginning of, because it's the ending you are seeing. From that scene on the story goes backwards in small bits (in color) and forward (in black and white) in other small bits at the same time, to meet at the climax towards the end. Sounds confusing? Memento is a great film, original and entertaining. It is however, in my opinion, a little over rated. Much like a couple of other great films - The Usual Suspects and The Prestige (Nolan's later film), it's great the first time round but once you've seen it once, its never quite the same and that's it's biggest downfall. The fact its filmed backwards is very original but the film Irreversible that came out 2 years later did it better. Still, a great film. more
