Christian Science Monitor David Sterritt
Like its precursor, U.S. Marshals has lots of action and the Jones groupies are likeable. Though the overall picture isn't as fine-tuned or character driven, it still delivers what moviegoers want to see - a fast-paced and entertaining chase. more
The New York Times Stephen Holden
A movie that knows how to pace its audience. Watching it is like going for a long and satisfying jog. more
Washington Post Desson Thomson
Although this film doesn't have the classy quality of The Fugitive, it certainly goes down like an action milkshake. And Jones, one of the most enjoyable actors on the screen, plays himself to the hilt. more
Entertainment Weekly Owen Gleiberman
Efficient, uninspired sequel. more
Chicago Sun-Times Roger Ebert
The result is unconvincing and disorganized. Yes, there are some spectacular stunts and slick special effects sequences. Yes, Jones is right on the money, and Snipes makes a sympathetic fugitive. But it's the story that has to pull this train, and its derailment is about as definitive as the train crash in the earlier film. more
San Francisco Examiner Barbara Shulgasser
I like that Sheridan's girlfriend works at Starbucks. Snipes plays the part with the kind of high energy that large doses of caffeine would explain. more
ReelViews James Berardinelli
The action sequences were often nail-biters, the lead characters were well-developed, and the dialogue was intelligent. more
The Globe and Mail (Toronto) Liam Lacey
Who really wants to go to an escape movie and have to work this hard to figure it out? more
New York Daily News David Kehr
Tommy Lee Jones seems to have misplaced the flinty resolve, gruff charm and fatherly concern that defined his earlier outing.
Austin Chronicle Russell Smith
Ironically, the problem may lie in Baird and screenwriter John Pogue's over-eagerness to give us what they think we want. more

Amazon Justice0309 "Justice"
In 1993, Warner Brothers studios released an incredibly successful movie called "The Fugitive" starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones, and based on the hit TV series of the same name. 5 years after the success of that film, the WB decided to release a semi-sequel/spin-off to the film focusing on the further exploits of the character of U.S. Marshal, Sam Gerard, played by Tommy Lee Jones. It was surprising that Warner Bros. wanted to explore this supporting character further, in fact it was just as surprising that they felt there could even be any chance of success with having a... more

They could have named this one the Fugitive II and gotten away with it. There was a slight lack of originality, but the spectacular cast pulls it off. Overall the movie was good. Tommy Lee Jones does a wonderful job and Robert Downey, Jr. was memorable as well. The comic relief was a must and was appreciated as it helped counterract the amazing suspense level present. I think I will add this one to my collection. more
Amazon Kimberly L. Tydings
You are not sure who is the bad guy and it keeps you guessing. The swamp scenes were good, actually enjoyed all the scenes. The Jones and his co-horts are excellent working together. I was disappointed in the loss of Newman. Kim more
