Q: What is PNOP all about?
A: The mission of PNOP is to foster a sense of community among
professionals of all ages and backgrounds in the Pocono Region. We are
a not-for-profit organization and organize an exciting variety of social
and networking events for professionals of all backgrounds and ages. Members
can
volunteer and support other local charities and good-will projects by
participating in or creating PNOP events on behalf of those organizations.
Q: Why should I join PNOP?
A: PNOP is perfect for the busy professional seeking to socialize
and/or network with other professionals in the Pocono region. Membership
is free! You pay for only the events you choose to partake in. PNOP members
organize events for professionals of different backgrounds and ages so
you
should not feel intimidated by your age or occupation. New connections
are being made at each event!
Q: What kind of events have you organized?
A: PNOP supports popular local events and outings such as the Shawnee
Balloon Festival and COTA/Jazz festival in Delaware Water Gap, hiking
the Appalachian Trail, classical concerts and ethnic festivals at East
Stroudsbrg University and rafting on the Delaware Water River, to name
a few. But we have also held activities in other areas, including art
gallery tours and club crawls in New York City, bike trips and Portuguese
dining in New Jersey. We take pride in the wealth of new and different
ideas PNOP members have shared. All members are encouraged to organize
or participate in new PNOP events!
Q: What do I need to do?
A: Your participation is purely voluntary. You can keep track of
PNOP events by checking the website or become a member so you receive
events emailed to you automatically (http://www.pnop.com/membership2.htm).
You can involve yourself as much as you want in planning and participating
in the events and activities that interest you. All are encouraged to
provide input and seek leadership roles within the group.
Q: Why haven't I heard of PNOP until recently?
A: Where have you been hiding! We are a relatively new not-for-profit
group, but we have been aired several times on WSBG 93.5 FM and our events
are published in the Pocono Record Weekender, Focus and other local papers.
Q: Can my company or I provide sponsorship of an event or purchase
web banner ads on your site?
A: Absolutely! PNOP seeks the collaboration and support of area
organizations and businesses for the purpose of promoting our mission.
PNOP events aim to improve the quality of life of professionals in the
Pocono Region.
